Personality: Bon Bon's been shown to have a myriad of personalities despite being a background pony: super-exuberant over the latest fad, like when Fluttershy became a model in late Season 1, a pony who can 'laugh at everything' which she attempted to showcase during Season 2 and being annoyed at Apple Bloom -back in Season 1- when she tried to dump a bunch of apples in her bag and demand payment. Applejack said she could have them and extra apples for no charge.

Bon Bon was one of many ponies affected by Twilight's 'Want It, Need It' spell in early Season 2, and she expresses her love for Twilight's old doll Smarty Pants. She's shown fighting with Lyra Heartstrings over the object in the background. She's disgusted with the cider she's presented by the Flim Flam brothers, saying that hers has rocks in it and glares angrily at Trixie when she returns to Ponyville to challenge Twilight in early Season 3. She has a deep friendship with Lyra which is shown throughout the series but in Season 5 she hurts her when she reveals the truth about herself during their preparations for a wedding. Their friendship is mended when Lyra reveals a secret of her own shortly after Bon Bon arrives at the wedding.

It's uncertain if Bon Bon's true personality was truly shown early on in the series once her secret identity was revealed, as she may have been 'acting' while undercover but she did admit her friendship with Lyra was real the entire time.

Strengths: Bon Bon's a determined and focused pony when she has a task set in front of her, such as trying to get cider during the start of Cider season. She'll go out of her way to console her friends, and ensure that they feel better no matter what bad news may befall them throughout the day. She puts faith in her friends that if she tells them something really important, that they'll keep it to themselves.

Weaknesses: She's privy to keeping secrets if need be from anyone she knows or cares about, which could in turn hurt or deeply affect them in the long run if things go bad even if she believes that doing so will be for their protection. Also, her emotions can cause her to go a little overboard at times if they're amplified by a spell of some sort.

Possessions: A suitcase filled with 4 items needed for instant disguises: a set of glasses, a fake mustache, a watch and a grappling hook.

Third Person: Ponyville. It’s the same…but it’s also slightly different. I can feel it in the air, like a harsh wind blowing through my mane as I blend into the crowd on a hot summer’s day.

Ponyville’s residents would know this mare as Bon Bon, one who had three wrapped candies on her flank as a cutie mark, and as previously stated she was blending into the crowd quite well. Especially since this particular crowd was in line at a familiar candy shop she’d remember very well.

Rumor around the haybales is that this Equestria’s different, that any mare, stallion, filly or colt can be pulled from anywhere and anytime…and obviously, that’s what happened to me. If that’s so, it would explain why this Ponyville’s version of me doesn’t run the candy store. Or maybe she does, and she was recalled into action.

Bon Bon’s eyes shifted for a moment or two, glancing around curiously for any suspicious looking ponies while making her way inside. (No, that wasn’t another Bon Bon still hanging out near the back of the line!)

Does she still use her real name, Special Agent Sweetie Drops, or maybe she goes by Bon Bon like I do? Does Lyra know the truth about me here? If she doesn’t, what would happen if I ran into her and tried to tell her the truth? Would she flip out again like she did back home…?

The mare steeled herself while approaching the register, offering the young mare at the counter a smile and quickly placed her order. After a few moments, she responded with a polite ‘Thanks!’ and exited just as stealthily with her favorite treats.

Maybe it’s best if I don’t see Lyra right now. It seems like this young filly she has running the store can handle herself just fine, so showing up would make things awkward for her. If that’s the case…maybe it’s for the best if Ponyville doesn’t get back another Bon Bon. It sounds like ponies just keep returning home, one after the other for the past few weeks. If so, I’ll just have to make all of Equestria my home until I’m sent back home.

The Earth pony took one last look back at the candy shop, nodded briefly and quickly found another crowd to blend into. She'd have to gather her things and prepare for her journey as soon as possible. Hopefully there weren't any bugbears in this version of Equestria...
